In February of 2009 the Sect of Revolutionaries (SR) announced its existence to Greek officials with an attack on a police station in Korydallos, Greece, a suburban area eight miles west of downtown Athens. After firing several rounds from a 9mm handgun, the group threw a grenade at the station, but the grenade failed to detonate. None of the perpetrators of the attack were captured.
